| The Concerned Citizens Committee in Rose Haven once again held another fundraiser in an effort to pay off a bill we incurred a couple of years ago in an effort to protect Rose Haven Park from erosion. Although we almost got rained out for our beer booth at this year's fireworks at Herrington Harbour South in Rose Haven, it turned into a pretty good night for us. As you can tell by some of the pictures in the link below, we did get a little wet. Considering the crowd who came to view the fireworks was about half of what we had last year, it really was a good night! The pictures are mostly of the CCC volunteers, along with some shots of our good customers. Yeah, some of the pictures are black and white. You can blame that on our dumb photographer. But I do like the fireworks shots. Looks like it was a blast, doesn't it??

The Concerned Citizens Committee
of Rose Haven, Maryland
Here's What The Concerned Citizens Committee Has Done
In 1993, there were plans to build three two-story homes on a few acres of waterfront land in Rose Haven. To do so, the developer needed variances from Anne Arundel County. The plans were opposed from the start by members of the Rose Haven community and, suddenly, a group of people who had never before met, were sitting in each others homes, talking about what had to be done to make sure the fragile waterfront land was protected. These relationships continue to this day.
The Concerned Citizens Committee (CCC) went to work doing research on the history of the land and appeared at a number of Anne Arundel County Council hearings to oppose the development. The developer listened to our objections and decided, instead, to sell the land to Anne Arundel County as part of Maryland's successful Program Open Space. Rose Haven Park is a wonderful example of a win-win situation.
What We Are Doing Today
Rose Haven Park is maintained by people like yourself who give of their time so that others can enjoy this all too rare waterside treasure on the Chesapeake Bay. We mow the grass, work with local high schools on plantings of important tidal vegetation and pick up trash. We hold fundraisers at various events every year, including the Fourth of July celebration at Herrington Harbour South in Rose Haven, The Goom Bay Festival, also held at Herrington Harbour South each August, and the North Beach Bayfest which is held every August in North Beach.
Where Your Donations Will Go
The CCC is a non-profit and tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Our federal tax ID number is 52-1992817. Our Maryland tax-exempt number is 31162200.
Your support of the CCC will help us pay off a $3,000 debt which we incurred for the placement of rocks (rip-rap) along the shoreline. These rocks help protect the tidal grasses that are now growing in abundance and which contribute to the health of the Chesapeake Bay. We also would welcome donations for fuel to mow the grass on the Park. If you are a Rose Haven resident, or live nearby, your help is needed to assist in mowing the lawn and maintaining the birdhouses throughout the park.
All of us say Thank You!
